The Female Nude or Ocean Sands? by Michael Slivers of crimson, from falling sun find their way through window blinds as I sit at my desk to write. The day is still, only the slightest breeze tossing roses about, making them rock back and forth to nature's own rhythm. My cat cleans herself, in a nearby chair, then curls into a ball and goes to sleep. Dimly lit, this room is quiet and somehow seems shut off from the rest of the world, like a place unto itself. Through tumbling, colliding thoughts I try to focus on what it is I want to say. The day grows old as I sit thinking. Perhaps a poem about how I trace the female nude with eyes and brush while painting her on canvas. How I grow to learn each inch of her warm and lithe form. Or I could write about the seashore, the calling gulls, foam and brine. The rich scent of life that the ocean so freely gives with each pounding wave. The hot, moist sand between my toes. The nice surprise of a perfectly intact sand dollar washed upon the beach and left by the receding tide. I can see that today there are no words in me, so I'll leave my desk for now and return when once again the blank page thirsts for my pen. Proust- |

Michael--I vote for the ocean sands...even if they are just in your mind...they sound so lovely, just the way you've painted them. |

The day is still, only the slightest breeze tossing roses about, making them rock back and forth to nature's own rhythm. this stanza is nice all on it's own I myself just loved the descriptiveness of where you were while thinking. I was there. "I'm a junkyard full of false starts....Elliot Smith" |

Hey why not do both, I love how the mind is so diverse, and so many images come in, the ocean is one of my fav. spots though it's so peaceful and I love the breeze blowing. as far as the naked women your sure to get an eyeful there, so see you can do both. |
