*my answer to YOU, doreen!  *As my thoughts return to spring, warmth, sunshine, and birds in sing, overwhelmed by Spring's sweet song, I smile and turn my pc ON. "I must record these thoughts of glory-- the wonderment of Nature's story!" Clicking keys in rhythmic trust- my words unfurl of Springtime's lust. Suddenly, without a clue, my screen became deep shade of blue. "Egads! and Drat! Oh no!" I cry. For on my screen was one word: "sigh." A SIGH??? Methinks it can't be true! then three more words: "I love you." Surely this must be a joke! Then I jumped back--my pc SPOKE! "Of course I love you," said pc. "I wish you'd write a poem for ME. We've been together for a year. I've wept with you each single tear. Yet every word, you write for HIM. You think that crash was just my whim?? I have a heart like all good folk! The night I crashed? My heart...just...broke." "But," I typed, "this just can't be. You have no heart. You're a machine!" "I can't believe you'd be so cold," cried pc, "you have no soul!" The screen was fading--fading fast. "Please don't go," I typed, "come back!" "Say you're sorry" as screen went black. "I AM!" I typed, "it's ME that lacks!" All my words I then recanted. "I'm sorry I took you for granted." "Say you love me..." warned pc. "Then write a poem just for ME!" "I love you! And? I WILL be true!" PC? This poem's just for YOU. I should have seen it all along. Somehow? I turned my pc ON!!!! [This message has been edited by serenity (edited 04-01-2001).] |

You and Sven have said a mouthful, serenity! Love this!! Personification is a lot of fun to write and to read and you've done a superb job here. Just remember, it's all fantasy, and if you know what's good for you, you won't let your p.c. see, this. Oops, too late! Sorry, I hope he understands. |

i love you too and ever since i turned it on and found you..... i can't remember who i write for.... do you believe that? no??? well... whatever.... it's marshland down there so i hear and i'm in virginia, which is for lovers so i keep turning it on.... and off... and on..... love the turn on no matter if you've got a PC and i've got a Mac..... it's a multiplatforum thing for sure.... and i'll just turn my mac on and then write some poetry and then shut the thing down and go plant some flowers.... ... happy spring, my friend.... you're a doll.... |
