“TEARS IN THE NIGHT” by Bill Charles ~~~~ I go to sleep with a smile, but when I open my eyes, my pillow always seems to be wet, and I hear these deep sighs… Sometimes I wonder, about how all of this could be, I get up and look in the mirror, not sure at what I see… For staring back at me, are two eyes the color of red, I’m very puzzled by this, for they were blue, when I went to bed… I returned to that lonely place, it once belonged to us, and I wish that you were still there next to me, without all of the fuss… But I wonder about why my eyes changed, they even hurt, possibly it’s from rubbing them too much, maybe I picked up a little dirt… Then again I’m not sure, it could be from the moon so bright, but I wonder if perhaps, it’s from all of those….., “Tears In The Night”… ~~~~ |

Bill Charles, you have written about a problem a lot of us have from time to time. Hope you can get over this soon. Hugs, ME |

Powerfully poignant...you speak your heart so well! You are surely a tender, compassionate man. |

Heres' to brighter days Bill, and I do believe you are not alone in this feeling of pain as many have been there too. Keep writing it out, and this was very poignant. |

BC, I have to agree we've all been there before. Never easy, but one night the tears will stop. Hang in there. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

I love the way you describe the experience with all the excuse that men give for feelings like these...uh it's just dirt in my eye...very clever and well done! Aloha with warmest regards, Koko |
