Some of the best times we ever shared Were running barefoot in the sand Kicking and splashing in the waves Sitting to watch the sun sink into the gulf Laughing at the antics of the gulls When we tossed scraps from the picnic We had devoured like two children Then laying back on the blanket To watch the stars diamond dust the sky Then there are the phone calls Where you know just from the sound of my voice What kind of day its been And you know when all I need to hear Is the sound of you breathing On the other end of the line We slip between lovers and friends As easily as the tide kisses the beach Letting us grow slowly one moment at a time Some call us fools because we dare to dream Of something beyond friendship Something more than love The best of all three Best friends Lovers Fools |

Well then being a fool doesn't seem to be so bad if it is one who dares to dream...however I would like some of those dreams to come true...because dreaming doesn't kiss as good...James |

The simplistic form that you write with ease brings your reader right into the scene and the emotions that are far from simplistic. Outstanding form, subject matter and congitive outcome. "I am not now that which I have been." |

I loved this poem! It was excellent! I too really like the last four lines. ....peace as a primary objective is dangerous because it implies that we would sacrifice any principle for the sake of it.... |

Lovely images here. Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
