A meandering of light tranquillity Winds through this ancient soul ~I’ve known this place~ Where lichen gathers soft in corners And tree-fingers curl around Fiery morning sun... Fresh earth billows up behind me As onward I travel Through a shadowy, Faintly dampened wood. Sensual appears the curve of sky, Bending down to touch the grass That wafts on the horizon line ~Sacred are the grainy sunbeams~ That push past leaf-clusters And dapple ever so gently Upon my windblown hair. Sorrow once suspending heavy Within my winter-weary spirit Has faded into buoyancy ~And my darkness falls to hibernation~ I tread through these forests Feeling daylight shimmy upon my skin And knowing freedom Of thought...and of destiny... Once again. *Krista Knutson* |

Spring of the earth and spring of the spirit are both beautiful and reliable events. You describe it all so beatifully, as ususal. You never disappoint. Thanks for sharing! "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |

Once again another beautiful poem, my dear! Loved your imagery and subject matter, I've always enjoyed spring. I thought that "Where lichen gathers soft in corners And tree-fingers curl around Fiery morning sun..." was just way cool.. Especially "gathers soft." It is unique and I like it. Great piece, sweetheart! "And every state of mind, left to itself, every shutting up of the creature within the dungeon of its own mind - is, in the end, Hell" - C.S. Ohh Krista, wow this is absolutely beautiful. I agree with Sharon, Submit! Sensual appears the curve of sky, Bending down to touch the grass oh simply stunning! I may know the word but not say it I may know the truth but not face it I may hear a sound a whisper sacred and profound but turn my head indifferent. Krista, your delicate images make this a stirring tale of transformation. Thanks for sharing it here. Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
