A dozen yellow roses
I received from you today
I laid them across my bed
Remembering a special memory
As I picked up the first one
I remember our first date
As we made out
Up at lookout point
Watching the evening sunset
The second one was not in bloom
Remembering you buying
My favorite perfume
As you placed a yellow rose
Behind my ear
As I shed a little tear
The third one was in full bloom
Its tips were dipped in pink
Reminded me of the night
You tickled me so hard
I cried and couldn't see
The fourth one
Makes me think
Of the night we spent
Watching scary movies
You knew that I would cringe
And you would just rub it in
The fifth one takes me to a time
We had a picnic
And drank some wine
And you whispered in my ear
I love you
For the very first time
The sixth one
Is one of my favorites
For we walked along
The sandy beach
And you wrote in the sand
Will you marry me
The seventh one
I will never forget
For that was the day
You asked my parents
For my hand in marraige
The eighth one takes me back
To the time when we went on a raft
And rode the rapids
Through the appalachians
I hadn't a clue
What to do
But your strength and knowledge
Got us through
The ninth one
Almost a goldenrod
Reminds me of our favorite
Fishing spot
Where we sat for hours
And reminsced
About the good ole days
When we were kids
The tenth one represents
Our first vacation
We rented a cabin
Deep in the woods
Sat in front of the fireplace
Making love
And feeling safe
The eleventh one
Takes me home
To our loved ones
The twelfth one
Is just a small bud
It represents our love
For a rose grows more beautiful
Each year
If nurtured and handled
With tender care
For each year it matures
More and more
Just as our love
Forevermore

Cheryl~
This is a lovely piece of your heart.
Many memories wrapped up in such a pretty bouquet.
