Where have all the people gone
The neighborhood was once so strong

We greeted all, while passing by
It was our place, no one was shy

There must be some, mistake in time
Please bring me back, is this a crime

The house I lived, has no more view
I cannot see, through something new

My neighbors homes, have disappeared
Destruction reigned, it's all too weird

Those roots I treasured, as a kid
Have somehow been, removed or hid

I can't relate, to what I see
What have we done, to history?

thepoeticplumber,

Welcome to Passions   I liked the poem, it carries such a valuable point.  It's a shame the way society has to change the enviroment.  Sometimes it just doesn't seem like home anymore. Can't wait to see more

Welcome to the family! This reminds me that we can never really go home...everything seems so changed...once you leave a place someone makes it different!! I look forward to more from you.

thepoeticplumber,

It is so sad to see those landmarks disappear that stand so strong in our minds.  I too wish at times that I could go back, but it is not the way of time.... and another welcome to you!!!

I just want to thank all those who welcomed me to the forum.  It was a very warm and enjoyable welcome.  I can tell this is like a big family gathering.  I look forward to more relationships.  By the way!!  You are a great group of poets.  Roger
