I toss a rose upon the sea,
In rememberance of thee,
A single bloom, of ivory white,
In memory of, thy guiding light,
You gave me life, you made me whole,
With loving heart, you forged my soul,
Now you have flown, through heaven's gate,
And now I fear, that it's too late,
To tell you Mom, that I miss you,
To tell you Mom, that I love you,
And so I toss on ocean's wave,
A single rose, for you who gave,
Of mother's love, of all she was,
Why toss a rose? I toss because....

A gentle wind blew cross the land,
Reaching out to take a hand,
For on the winds the angels came,
Calling out a mother's name,
Left behind, the children's tears,
Loving memories of the years,
Of joy and love, a life well spent,
And now to God, a mother's sent.
On angel's wings, a heavenly flight,
The journey home, towards the light,
To those who weep, a life is gone,
But in God's love, 'tis but the dawn.

Oh, Mike~
This is so lovely.

I toss the same rose on the St. John's River
where my mother loved to be~
I watch as it drifts along and think of the serenity and joy she found being on the water~

Thank you for sharing such a lovely memoried piece.
