Beyond the Grasp Virginia Salter I tried to speak my heart; he drove off in a philosophical tangent left me standing all alone I felt as if I were the target of many a pummeling stone mournfully I stood, black as a midnight sky above a hill in the wilderness, helplessly began to cry if he could not be purple with passion why not red with rage or even green with envy or yellow with wisdom’s sage my words seemed to fall to a space beyond the clouds outside the pull of the earth beyond the grasp of the crowds © May 6, 2000 |

thanks, latin passion, but I have to admit this is fully contrived...although, I really think I've felt this way in some piece of my past. |
