Quiet Parade Your love, attention body, mind hope, laughter tears, time You gave me all you had to give it’s just that I’d failed to anticipate there might be some limit to your patience I look back to find I tried it endlessly insecurity inhabiting places where before confidence had been But that’s knowing what I know now then I thought that we would move from love the passion to love the decision we didn’t all that’s left of all you gave me a hair tie, an empty cigarette pack from when you still smoked every poem you ever wrote me every memory we ever made yet more what here at this moment endures is not something you gave me but something you inspired me back towards a passion, yes, but this for words it’s for that I thank you here in a quiet parade I share a moment you made possible with gratitude and love |

"I thought we would move from love the passion to love the decision." I believe you are talking about the way love builds...like putting a puzzle together...piece by piece...James |

My goodness, but this was so very excellent -I love the acknowledgement of awakening, grateful for the gift no matter how brief, memories linger. "I am not now that which I have been." |
