Nothing More Than Friends Sometimes a fool is not to cool and apparently this is one of those cases. I spent way too much time getting to know a lovely lady perhaps looking for love in too many places. Nothing happened that I can't talk about. We are nothing more than friends. Still I should have inquired her status sooner of this I'm sure before my heart desired to know her more. I said "By the way are you married?" And she said "Yes indeed I am." "Didn't you notice this ring on my finger placed there by a very special man?" Jameslee@May01,2001 |

You've captured much beauty and sorrow in these lines James. It's so difficult to tell our minds to break free when our hearts are overcome with emotion. Very nicely written! Best wishes, /Kit |

James....nicely put. May I make a suggestion? Read C.S. Lewis..."The Four Loves", one of which, oddly enough, is Friendship. Thanks for sharing. Bob |

James, you can never have too many friends. . . liked the reality of this one. . . -------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Thank you so much Kit, Rose, RMW, Sunshine and Sven. RMW I will look for that book...friendships are very valuable. Sven she's a waitress at a local restaurant and I have been talking to her for a few months and it never dawned on me to ask of her marital status until I wrote a poem while I was thinking of her titled "Wondering" and I was going to give her the poem and I realized it was romantic so I ask first if she was married...never thought about it til I realized I was starting to really admire and desire her...her response was cute....James |

James, As you know, friendship between a man and woman can often be a tricky thing. "Like" must always outweigh "desire" in order for it to flourish. A very good write. Michael Proust- |
