Aspen Aspen stand together. In summer, When the sun prefers the meadow, And the grass leans forward As though warming to attention At a church social, They twitter near the edge. Later, When the sedge has frozen, And the moon is but imagination Peeking over the horizon, They reflect in ponds, Breathless with the excitement of their own lace Undergarments. RMW |
