She is a long, cool drink of vintage wine Poised before my lips And held there until the end of time Savored with little sips Not drained in one fleeting, clumsy swallow Bypassing the sensitive tongue Slowing the flow brings such pleasure to follow Lessons not learned by the young With age comes a deepening form of understanding Of how to sustain that flow, To savor forever the taste of her I am demanding And in doing so, The moment that would otherwise be spent fleeting Is frozen somehow in time A choice I chose willingly upon our first meeting To tend her green growing vine She will thus ripen, upon lips of mine She, that way will be, like vintage wine |

Simply beautiful, your words moved me to tears, being the sentimental woman I am. Very fine writing, Sir Knight.. Kate Blessings Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood. |

Very pretty. I especially admire the sense of sincere appreciation the speaker exhibits. Nicely done, thanks for it. Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
