A repost from another forum - written 1/18/00 Love the Way It Should be Vaguely in the attic of my mind These words are being sung to me It's Carly Simon, singing heartfelt The memories fill me with ennui I've designed a home drew up plans If I win the lottery -I'll build it A house, the way it should be A house where people fit Love -the way it should be To last throughout the years Must be sweet, tender too Yet washed by many tears Do I like tears of course I don't But they're needed all the same Tears of sadness, tears of joy Washing tears -part of the game Love -the way it should be To last from age to age Try a little tenderness Lovers never should spark rage Respect, consideration, Should always hold the day Love and admiration Never words should flay Love -the way it should be Lasting year to year Needs communication Needs a listening ear Communication's listening Hearing what is said Not being so judgmental Not replying how you bled Love -the way it should be Staying close and warm Sharing love that's sexy Keeping each from harm Sex union is important Such joining two as one Besides when it's done right It really can be fun Love -the way it should be Giving laughter day by day Needless words aren't needless When love's in what we say The first duty of love is to listen. |

It would be nice, wouldn't it, Bill, if we could go back and rebuild our love house with the wisdom that years bring. |

A house built of love...where two hearts beat for the other...thru the tears...thru the years...and beyond.... |

Yes Bill, that definately is the way it should be. Hugs dear poet friend. On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free. |
