Never Fear

sometimes it’s good to examine
our various beginnings
                   other than the obvious
for the obvious
changes
day by day and once again
examine
what led us on
                   our way
to where we are
today

to read some words
from thirty years gone by
lets me know I’ve not failed
nor been derailed
                   and I’m compelled
to still do well
not dwell
on failures or
rejections
but instead
give infection of
giggles
to my life
                   nod my head
yes, I’ve tried
                   and shake away
that which descries
“failure”
for I am not

after all
I’m all I’ve got

my body, still erect
my mind, condition green
there is still hope in me
                   as I believe in fairies’ dreams

I clap “believe”
and in my imaginings, fly
and know there’s a love
somewhere, that thinks just as I

so I say on my down days
Never Fear
and heed words of those
far and near
who believe in me
and what I do

so Never Fear
for you see,
it’s true,
in your beckon,
                   I hear you.
