She didn't sing it just for me. I knew that from the start But, when I heard the melody, It poured into my heart. A voice whose passion filled the sky, Smooth notes held loud and long Yet gentle as a mother's sigh, That's how she sang her song. A small part of the audience I sat, quite mesmerized, And felt her touch my every sense, Form teardrops in my eyes. To me there was no day or night, There was no right or wrong. My world was filled with sweet delight The way she sang her song. Could she imagine, singing there She had, so easily, Calmed my fears and stripped me bare For all the world to see? Although her lips seemed not to move Her notes came loud and strong To put me in a wondrous groove The way she sang her song. Hard times will never get me down. No worries bother me For I'll just hum that wondrous sound She placed inside of me. Whatever battles I must face That life may send along, My world remains a glorious place Because she sang her song. She'll never know my love for her, Won't feel my passion's rage. A faceless soul I'll be - a blur She looks on from the stage. It matters not, for in my soul She always will belong. She's made my life completely whole The way she sang her song. |

Ahh...I think he should have gone and tapped on the stage door, poor guy! Okay, I could almost hear you in my living room study reciting this, you have gotten way to far into my head (LMAO), the beat goes on! And thank goodness for that, what a great poem. ~*~ If the want a rainbow ~ you have to put up with a little rain ~*~ |

your mastery shows once again...I loved the sweet melancholy in the emotion of this, and of course, as always, impeccably constructed. |

Another beauty from you Michael ... perfect in your cadence and rhyme, what a lovely mood you've set with these tender words of adulation. Pure and genuine emotions to cherish and carry within, long after the song has been sung. Seems to be what your poetry does for me sweet poet. Best wishes, /Kit |

One feels the cushion of the chairs, the dim lights flicker, the spot light is on her ... and the music floats, each individual in the audience hearing what they want to hear. Thanks for sharing what you heard. |
