It seemed so surreal, almost like a nightmare on Monday,
A phone call - never dreaming what was in store.
You said another sweet life was now taken from me,
Gone to heaven, to live in peace forever more.

Those gentle, brown eyes had looked their last at me, and,
Those soft hands I held when I had comforted her in pain.
Gone was the heart that loved me more than simple words,
The beaming, beautiful face that I could never touch again.

Her loving voice had always brought such joy within;
Her laughter could so easily warm up the coldest nights.
Always offering to help others whenever she could,
Oh, how I will miss those loving arms that hugged me tight.

So these are very sad days in which I bow my head
Again, death makes me face the world a little less whole.
In reality, my heart knows her love is still with me,
And safely somewhere, rests in peace, her loving soul.

You will be missed.
