Laughter Pouring over the phone Tinkling Like champagne into the glass. He could feel it bubble from her throat and burst there into his heart Memories 0f lost moments New memories He wanted to build Flooded his mind Could it ever be Could it yet happen These two Star-crossed Unwitting lovers Unexpected He imagined that waterfall Sunshine splashed That star-filled sky That silence Broken only by their breathing And their love-filled words So much they could do Had not done Terraced rondezvous Dances to make hearts pulse Lascivious meals a la Tom Jones Sharing tears over chick flicks Long park hand-locked walks mid blossoming trees dangling bare feet in streams The wonder again of learning innermost secrets of feeling one’s blood flow to the insistent desire of mutual need To know again the joy of noses peeking above sheets fresh from the line or the hose-water when they only could play in the yard Days, months (years?) will yet pass he prayed hard He hoped she did too The first duty of love is to listen. |

What don't I like about this Mr. Yeats? Absolutely nothing! This is so delightful! I hope the images of your star-crossed lovers find their ever-after, even if only fiction... |
