To Your Heart Be True I thought or was it hoped we would get married in a year or two. Somehow now that doesn't seem possible. Partially due to your overwhelming desire to be free. I understand that marriage in some ways inhibit's the act of freedom. It narrow's you down to just one sexual partner instead of the world as your playground. So if marriage is out of the question boyfriend and girlfriend seems like a possibility. But you told me you don't want that either. Do you have anything for me? Or am I doomed to roam and suffer in love all alone? The future doesn't look that bright for me. Would anyone agree? Don't understand exactly why I feel like this yet I am totally inspired to kiss you til my lips fall off. To love you til my heart cries stop. Who could possibly understand when a heart decides to take control and from that moment on only a fool would stop the flow when a heart says go. It seems to me if I dived 200 feet beneath the sea I could never find a pearl as beautiful as Michelle looks to me. I would not hesitate to bungee jump from the Golden Gate yet the thrill would be pale compared to my lovely Michelle. I never, never want to forget you. Yet if you are certain you want to leave of course my heart is with you. My love I cry real tears for you and me. What could have been perhaps will never be. Still I have to say it certainly was a thrill. Out of all these billions of people in this world you and I took the time to look each other in the eye and for those special days we liked what we could touch and see. And the magic that we shared flows within our precious memories. So Michelle be the best you can and to your heart be true and remember these were the times when I wrote some poems for you. What can be said about this, dear James? It is an account of raw, fresh pain, remarkable in its candor, heartrending in its wounded words. (((you))) hugs to you today...keep writing. 'To kiss you till my lips fall off..' What a great line, James. I know they say only time heals a broken heart, but it always sounded so condescending to me. I wish you peaceful moments for now. This was truly a lovely read, James. Thank you. Kate Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood. |

Oh James this was so heartfelt, this will be a rough time for you but we cannot hold someone to us if they don't want to be held, let her go and fly free, the hurt will last a lifetime but you will get through it and you will love again and if it's true love you find all will be healed.....floating winged ~HUGS~ you way and hoping the hurt eases soon. Tracie~ Love is the life of the soul... |

I can only say that this touched me in a way that nothing has for a long time. Maybe it's timing was perfect for my heart, but whatever the reason, I thank you....and I hope that you find the happiness you so deserve and that it is returned to you a millionfold!! I feel like I understand exactly what you mean. The head just can not justify what the heart feels and it is so hard to know the truth. Very touching poem. |
