Words are Tripping my Song it’s one of those days when the words come fast and loose and scramble on like tumbleweeds caught up in the hot Kansas wind quick, catch the tumbleweed, quick, it has a note on it, the one I wrote last night in the blue moonlight, the one that carries the loosings of all my heart to the one I love I tied it on in hopes he would find it and read them and now I need them back, those words, it’s not because my heart doesn’t still believe in all that I wrote on the parchment… but I’m afraid the tumbleweed will get caught in a gully where the waters don’t flow any more, and he shall never see them. I would rather hand them to him myself, when he rides up, in a day-dream’s dust storm blowing in against the golden sunset, just before the dusk sets on our dreams, when in my shy he takes up my face, searches my eyes, sees the reticence still there, conscious are we both that I am still his woman and only my notes tied to that tumbleweed that now roams the prairies carry my words to the song that he has put in my heart |

Oh my! Are we ever romantic today! This was simply beautiful, like a scene out of a movie...I have a vivid imagination, and I can almost picture the characters. Oh but you paint pictures girl, and well! ~*~ I write, therefore I am ~*~ |

Yes, indeed. I found myself humming "drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweed" while reading it. Very vivid image here.... |

Thank you Mysteria...truth be told, it's inspired by an old Louis L'amour movie...one of my favorites...with Sam Elliott & Kathryn Ross... 'Deer...did you have it in the right key? G, I believe... [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 04-15-2001).] |

I enjoyed the romantic quality of this piece, Sunshine, and the western images and language. Nicely written. Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Karilea--I think the tumbleweed must be a Kansas version of message in a bottle..this was very romanitc. I especially liked this stanza: when in my shy he takes up my face, searches my eyes, sees the reticence still there, conscious are we both that I am still his woman |

Wait! I gotta get a posse together and round up all those tumbleweeds. You have just created an unheard of demand for tumbleweeds! Potential happiness in each one Oh, and your work is fabulous... Excellent imagery Karilea ... I could visualize this perfectly and it set such a perfect mood to the thoughts as they tumbled so elegantly down the page. Lovely writing my friend! Best wishes, /Kit |
