The black sky

Taking with you

To see my heart
Slip into your pocket.
So it could beat
Next to yours.
Then I remembered that night
In the deafening music
And the blinding lights
How you danced with me.
The crowd of people
Around us
Faded into the walls
As your hands
Touched me.
So softly around my body.
And as you pulled away
You took my soul
With you.
And I watched
How it embraced yours
So they could have
Each other forever.
Next I remembered
All those times we laughed
Together
And cried together
And talked together.
And with each laugh,
Each tear,
And every word,
The world was gone to us.
And you took with you
A part of my love.
And every single time,
I saw my love
Touch your heart and mine,
And our two souls
So they could all
Join together
And bring you the happiness
