DRINK AWAY ME! Once upon a time, long ago, there was a moment, I'm now afraid to show. Hallucinations, voices in my head. Using, abusing, stuck all day in bed. And every night I would cry, I wished to be happy like you, but then I tried to die. I wished for light, a chance to heal. Then I learned, to cease to feel. Chugging the beer & sipping the wine, 'til the past faded away, & the sun would shine. When I thought the dark was done, I'd live for once, enjoy the sun. Then memories would reveal. Tears ruined my spirit, I'll never heal. Then again the drinking begun. Caught every last drop, until I felt numb. Nothing can stop me anymore. I've grown a backbone, found the door. A way out, my great escape, a whole new me, another place. Then again I would awake, to reality, & a throbbing headache! That was a very nice write! As you probably noticed i have been posting poems on drinking. I have someone very close to me that drinks pretty heavy at times and I just would really like them to chill out! But this is a good write. But remember: Alchohol doesn't solve a thing! LadyPeach1 :P |

Thanx lady--I know this was a poem about how i used to be--i only go out & drink occasionly now--My dad was a very bad, abusive alcoholic & i never want it to come down to that for me--it was hell when i was little--thanx for replying LOVE ELMO <3  |

 I've done this so many times before; I'm glad I didn't make it a habbit though. The escape was so pleasent at the time then you just get tired of all the headaches. Great write here!! What don't kill you can only make you stronger... |
