my son announced he was moving out every sound he exhaled from that moment forward became white noise that suspended over the living room like lethal gas billows of white smoked agony engulfed me inflating the tiny air sacs in my blanched lungs all color leached from my skin shading it ashen white my fingers and toes felt artic as if frostbitten by an avalanche of pounding white snow the wintry cold spread to my limbs and torso like milk white anesthia I went numb like a baby seal bludgeoned on the frozen Tundra Jeen |
