Journey To Forgive You were the first, Then others followed Just like you. You were my life. You were my hero, But I never really knew. You acted inappropriately, And at the time I couldn't see the light. You were older and knew better, I was so young and unknowing And didn't want to fight. You always said you loved me And I believed you with all my heart. I never truly knew it really wasn't right. You never tried to say you were sorry, Yet in my heart I know you have regrets Because I've seen the sadness in your eyes. You left me feeling confused about life And now my journey to forgive YOU begins. In forgiving I heal and let go of all the lies. Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood. |

This was just beautiful...I liked the notion of forgiveness being a double edged sword...it heals the one who needs to be forgiven, and at the same time it heals the person who does the forgiving...the journey to forgive begins with a single step...well done! Jellybean King |

I have to agree with Jellybean's words. Nice touch there, a good poem of pain and healing and how as souls, we must move on and sometimes holding on to the pain isn't the way to go. Great read. With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free.. |
