It’s deep within you Raging through the vessels Corroding my rationality You never wanted anything Never hated the ones who wanted it Ripping and gnawing Scratches and festering puncture holes It lies within your empty organs Know and going, knowing and going Rip apart my balanced soul I couldn’t have taken from you You never hated me for wanting it Ripping and gnawing Scratches and festering puncture holes (chorus) Coming in the night, this ethereal phantasm Reaping through the flesh Searching for the long lost point on its pentagram Circle less, and spiritless Flipping around and spinning around Flipping around and spinning around It’s upside down, it’s upside down Ensanguined, and on the knees Tearing through the inner lining Flip around its reciprocally placed star An inversion of this choir song The death of 3 will come to be The death of 3 will come to be The death of 3 will come to be Ripping and gnawing Scratches and festering puncture holes Ripping and gnawing Scratches and festering puncture holes (chorus) The pagans burning down the church The Christians in their plastic mirth The dream become reality, this is number 10 I’ll take from you what you hold dear The death of 3 will come to be The death of 3 will come to be The death of 3, you will soon see Ripping and gnawing Scratches and festering puncture holes (chorus) Up rides the phantom Upon his beheaded horse Holding the pieces that he has found Looking and searching, he only finds hate The top of his star we’ll use as the bate Throw the life face into the fire Feeding it, feeding it Feeding the one we created for madness He was made by the god who has only gladness From good came on evil From good came on evil This hypocritical sanction of lies We’ll burn down the temple and gouge out the eyes Ripping and gnawing Scratches and festering puncture holes (chorus) Three has died Three has died It’s upside down Un-circled and bleeding It’s upside down Un-circled and bleeding It’s upside down It’s upside down Earth, air, fire, water Mixing in the blood Turning into organ grindings Mixed with mud Ripping and gnawing Scratches and festering puncture holes (chorus) Ensanguined, and on the knees Tearing through the inner lining Flip around its reciprocally placed star An inversion of this choir song The death of 3 will come to be The death of 3 will come to be The death of 3 will come to be |

Well, I won't get into hardcore detail, but I will reveal what I can. Essentially it's about this "phantasm" who is searching for spirit, which happens to be the missing point on his pentagram. The pentagram is a symbol of both good and evil. It has five points; water, fire, spirit, earth, air. Having one of the points missing would essentially make it unbalanced and the "phantasm" represents the things that are trying to take away the spirit within us, the people who try and drain us. Also a circled pentagram is a symbol of goodness and security, whereas an uncircled pentagram is evil and even more so a pentagram which has been flipped upside down and is un circled. So the phantasm represents all the evils in the world that attempt to tare us down. Although the lines "Never hated the ones who wanted it" is basically saying that so often we don't realize until long after the fact that people were using us. The number 3 in this poem represents "individuality" and freedom, the people who take from us only want to take, they want what we have to become better than us, they want to take away what makes us, us. The sub theme of this poem is the hypocricies of religion and how saying that god is good is hypocritical, because if god created all things then he also created evil...therefore who is more evil in theory? God or Satan? I hope that gives you...some idea. |
