Slowly losing my sanity As nightmares given life Blind me to the truths of old Angels come to calm the rage But even in moments of peace Screams of agony pierce the thunderous silence darkness falling deeper now into the very depths of my soul my spirit once so colorful now awash with endless black on the surface so pale but slowly washing over red blades like silver brushes painting pictures of true pain black rainbows, hues of gray my world lifeless and worn my life shattered and torn on the edge between life and death regret and remembrance trying to find any sign of hope upon the edge of a knife only silence in the dark depths no salvation for the sorrowed only regret in the confines of hell Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death. |

Your use of imagery in this piece is almost astounding! I love the colors, I think they paint the perfect picture of what you were trying to portray here... "my spirit once so colorful now awash with endless black on the surface so pale but slowly washing over red blades like silver brushes painting pictures of true pain black rainbows, hues of gray" Great write, much enjoyed! ~Alicia |

This is a very vivid and somber poem, I think the imagery was well portrayed and the vocabulary used in the poem was also well chosen. All in all, great write from the newbie poet, Paragon |

I always felt that the direction of ones thought w/most poems, lies w/the few, first/last lines. Nice write mysticpoe If nothing is something |
