The Sands may whisper forgotten secrets, When you incline your heart to hear. And stone idols can offer faded wisdom, If your spirit will simply listen. Do they speak of worn desirous dreams, The kind woven in bed's of great desire, Of nobel Pharaohs and peasants alike? For life is no respecter of persons. Their song along a night's ancient breeze May echo primitive universal mysteries. In ages past, of war's tumbling upon time, Mocking the fallen warriors from battle. They wear an undeciphered expression Captured in a relentless half smile of rock. Which entices the saturated greedy heart, Offering only dust within barren tombs. Or is that what we wish to hear and see, Presuming upon our egos to translate? When in simple reality they are merely Repeating the rhymes of children's play. Ma Miller...thank for enjoying this piece. It has become one of my favorite. I feel your work is wonderful as well. Perhaps this piece seems familiar because you read it in my own Dark Labyrinth on Tapestries. Probably before you deleted your one poem you posted and never explained why. mYsTiC |
