Is the Dead any more dead
without a carven tombstone?
Stone and steel aren't forever
just as memories seldom die.
But when the stone is broken,
the man behind the cement mask,
in piece, can finally lie.
The sweet riches of torment
are finally put to slumber
as pain washes away
as life spirals away
in the inevitable corkscrew
of a memory...
