Golden smiles drift on dense clouds, clogging my windpipe with their white whispers. My mind now a cottonfield, I choke on the silence, my voice is mute. The well bleeds dry like a painful callous on a waitress’ heel. Rain cleanses my wounds, drowning my tongue as it stamps out the fire with heavy boots. Blissful haze envelops me in warm blue blankets cradled by the crescent moon, as she faithfully travels my path. Oh, how I long to escape, to free my mouth from beneath the white sheet for just one moment... just one breath... knowing my heaven would wait for me, to dry my throat once again. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end... |
