Will I ever be licked clean of this
clear coat of ignorance that I wear?
All the things I swallow now
leave a bitter taste in my mouth.
The world has been pulled over my eyes
to blind me from the truth.
Pulled over my eyes to keep me
from seeing the trees for what they are.
The excess-baggage I carry on my journey
weighs me down, and holds me back.
The dark cloud looming over my head
has my conscience working overtime.
The guilty path I walk, I bury,
uncaring of the monotonous warnings,
and the broken keystone of my arch.
Oh! The folly of my being will thrive!

I enjoyed this very much. The construction and vocabulary was very well chosen.
