When I'm feeling blue As I so often do It's very hard to move To get back in the groove Sometimes I sit and cry And even wonder why The pills they help a bit They also stifle wisdom, wit At times I only write To help stave off the night I need to have a walk Or maybe have a talk Move away from this blue place Before I sear my face With my tears of rust Perhaps I'll learn to trust But something I must do When I'm feeling blue Is look to the glass to see Who is really me And what can set me free From my history A walk is always good In my safe neighborhood I'm kind to myself I walk and ponder wealth Of spirit I have found In beauty all around Sometimes I stop to chat Do a little of this and that Sometimes I simply smile It soothes the rank and file And people smile back Giving back the hope, I lack And when my stroll is done My walking in the sun My heart is lifted up I'm ready for life's cup What works best for me when stuck in misery is to walk beneath the moon Then with delight I swoon 'Tis there I find my peace Cause sorrow demons cease Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life.
