I shot you last night.
Ceased your life in a flash of death
I gorged myself on your flesh
taking all I wanted and leaving
waste.

The slaughter I reveled in
was in vain for the most part.
I was not hungry, nor in need
I merely wanted to end you
quickly.

I sat down today and reflected
on the violence of my act
my hand reaching like a bullet
my words butchering your soul
unknowing.

As I thought of my failure
to be the man you so deserve
I prayed for the strength
the true strength to fix it
finally.

I know my quest for your joy
will hurt you just a little
as you are faced with my trash
I leave behind with this final
bullet.

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh JP, I think we all go through this phase in life, dearest friend, at first we have no clue what love is and so we desire being the hunter and claim we can fire like a skilled cupid but we only make a murder of a heart, then through the grief the realization is made and through ones mistake the lesson is learned and the bullet can hurt ones mind even more! (sad sigh) I'm glad this is from the past, sweet friend, I send many angel hugs your way and my proud vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet JP, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

There's nothing mixed about this metaphor, JP.  It's powerful, and says a ton about remorse and second chances.

Intense, yet effectual writing here in this poem. Definately worthy of reflections.

Sometimes we have to follow a stronger voice, even if it's silent.
