a palm frond lies embedded in stone

a fossil fish looks back at me

a turtle is statuesque

my doorstop a drumstick

from a Uintathear

Paleo People left me a point

which I regard as a work of art

this land does not give up its past

without deciding the merit of the gift

yet to the “schooled”

I am a “pothunter”

a despoiler of “cultural resources”

they forget these are my ancestors

these things are their legacy to us

and they choose to whom

it is bequeathed

in the finding

Thanks for reading, Maree.
One of my hobbies is collecting ancient things. They are all over the deserts here.

Check your email for a recent pic of Ian & me!! He's quite the little gentleman?
