PAST LOVE Yesterday, A lifetime ago, I loved you Above all else. You taught me how To honor And respect Myself. THEN You changed, Became Controlling, Arrogant And abusive. Images, Play wickedly, Creating havoc In my mind. I live in a Constant state Of terror And fear, Of you. You, Who once I thought So loving, So kind. You haunt My dreams From beginning To end. Tragic love. Why don't you leave him? *just kidding, it's only a poem, I know*. Dark poetry is right. Let's see if I can dig up something darker than this..lol |

You do a good job using short lines to express some pretty painful realities. It certainly does, I am fortunate though that it does not apply to me and never has and at this time in my life probably never will. |
