Just thought it might be nice and fun to write a poem like Layton's "Whom I Write For."

I write for those who watch tv shows like
Touched by an Angel and Seventh Heaven,
who think that family life is about
second chances and instant forgiveness.

I write for those who think family is about love.

I write for those who think life is as easy
as following the self help guru's advice and
remembering their spirits each day hoping
for some penetrating transcendental direction.

I write to the shephard authors of self help books.

I hope your flocks never look up from the
grass because they may see people like me
flying overhead seeing and speaking the
truth about life, family, and the world.

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

I frankly am not into this whole "whose truth" business.  That is copping out, quite frankly, from discussing the real issues.  If everyone has his own truth then what's the point in discussing the things that are really out there.  Also, how could you say everyone has his own truth since that statement in itself would, under such logic, be your own truth and not necessarily everyone else's, and certainly not the objective truth.

Basically, now that I'm done with that rant, I wrote this poem to show that, for me[and I suppose the truth about my local circumstances] life is NOT a bowl of cherries.  I wrote the poem to counter any claim that it is.
