I was only eleven when I fell and hit my head. Now I am dead because of a push or shove at school. I fell down the stairs. Was it an accident? Now I won't get to trick or treat Thursday night. Was it an accident? Either way, the end result is the same for me. Goodbye. Nickolaus, age 11. I realize this sounds morbid. But it was triggered by a true story that just happened yesterday here in the Denver area. It left me with cold chills, knowing how many times I've seen children push and shove, and usually, bruises are the end result. Kids will be kids, is what some will say. |

That was a bit freaky. It was like he was speaking from beyond the grave... Very sad, but this reminds us to live each day as if it were our last... Anyone of us could be hit by a truck tomorrow, or have a stroke or heart-attack... or be stabbed or shot, or fall down the stairs... the human body is so weak, don't you think??? Exactly. I tried to present it from the point of view of the escaping soul of an 11 year old, who was playful, and never thought for a second that day would be his last. Actually, it was written only moments after hearing the news. And the other part of the story I didn't write is that his 13 year old sister was also there, and unable to do anything but observe the tragic early demise of a brother she dearly loved. Yes, carpe diem...and say I love you today to those you love, don't wait until it is too late. Thank you very much, for taking time to read and reply.
