This poem was made necessary by the mere fact that poems are popping up all over the internet that glorifiy this horrendous act of violence against women. I simply wanted to have my say. It's a nighmare that never goes away, a fear then carried into every day. Shame comes along with the panic, making of me a borderline manic. He stole from me what was mine alone. He never once for this atoned. He took my security and my life, when he raped me in the dead of night. A smile played grossly upon his face, a memory I beg God to please erase. He marked me then, as if he'd cut my skin, when perpetrated upon was this horrible sin. Then he laughed as he dressed and left leaving behind the body only, of one bereft. For my spirit was taken, my soul tattooed my mind, my honor, my dignity bruised. It was a crime of lust he committed in haste. Now I am left with this god awful taste, Of damned, of loss, of a broken heart. Rape is ugly, and cruel, and in no way art. WhiteRose |

Man, I'm glad I've never seen these pages/poems you speak of. How can something like that ever be considered art? (well, okay, there's some paintings and mythologies ... so I guess that answers that question :p) Powerful poem, Anne. I'm glad you got your say in. |

Very descriptive,Very sad Images where flowing Im sorry if this has happen to you. People that do such should be hurt,tortured,then killed after being severely beaten and tortured. I have a request i read threw the rules, but im still skeptical so i ask are we allowed to use the f word? |

I think usage of the f~ word may be restricted to the adult poetry board. |

nolon, no, you are not allowed to use the "F" word. It is always best to review the guidelines, as they do make it pretty clear what is and isn't acceptable in the forums. If you still have questions after reading, any moderator will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
