I sing my body To electric dolls Though know not one Who will sing to me I cast my spell How it enthralls Before their eyes Too blind to see I waste my time With flights of fancy Scrolling words Upon this page I take my chance Though no one can see This heart that withers As I age Judge me not The words that I’ve said Rather on The things I‘ve done For very soon I will be dead Nevermore To feel the sun And when I pass Beyond this realm Please know these words Of love are true I’ll board the ship And take the helm Then sail my way Right back to you G. G.A. Webb This one was like the idea of E.A. Poe taking a fancy to Leaves of Grass. Mike |

bsquirrel: To be compared to the likes of Edgar Allen Poe and Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass is quite an honor, I thank you sir. Moon Dust: And I thank you as well. I'm glad you liked this piece. G Regret not that which you have done, Rather that which you haven't [This message has been edited by G. A. Webb (09-20-2002 11:24 AM).] |
