Someone who believes to no end
Even when the end is in the no of visibility
Is said to be listening to the song of the nightbird
Blasés call it idealism, romanticism, even false hope.

2 AM, a man escapes status quo’s womb
He’s heard the plethora of opinion against his dream
And definitely knows the stinch of “been here befores”
Yet, off in the distance... faint... God yes, he strains.

But from that moment and to no end
Even when the end is in the no of visibility, oh but yes
He cuts the umbilical cord, for the chord he now hears sustains
And in the sand, visible only to him, he writes a name

(Off in the distance... faint... God yes, but there
That name echoes to one, listening or not,
Offering an end to the no of blasé visibility
And just between you and me... Damn, that nightbird can sing.)

This is brilliant,

Love the phrase 'status quo's womb'

A great thought provoking piece,

Even when the end of blase', is in no visibility

Good pensings, here

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Purity,
I like the defiant hope
trilling through this.

Purity,

This just absolutely says one thing....THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE.   At least that is what I grasped and held onto.  It was a very inspirational read for me, because of the DEPTH of faith in holding on. The human spirit is so capable of more than we ever could imagine, isn't it?  I believe you captured what it is capable of in your expression here. So well written. Thank you!

you excel in phrase here Chris...I just love this!

"And definitely knows the stinch of “been here befores”
Yet, off in the distance... faint... God yes, he strains."

and the nightbird? only YOU and Stevie Nicks lovey!! this was amazing in depth and I've never gotten less from you.

now by admitting the bird can sing does that not also mean you are likin the song? shake those hips sweetie!!!

take care you!!

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...
