Mayhem struck and broken, Passing over greedy hands, Lightning strikes us violet, Splits the sky for all to see. The clouds must be descending now, There’s darkness overhead, And we’re screaming for salvation, Anxiously awaiting breath, Your bittersweet resuscitation. Then you come out to play, And we’re dead like every other day, But you cry and rust the gates, And for one minute, heaven wants us. Blood is dripping, tastes of copper, Braided spirits start to swell, And there’s no room to even shed a tear, Through walls of flesh and metal. Arms raised, defiant to the night, Our voices carried on the rain, As one we fall, as one we fight, Strangers held in place by hate, And branded with your melodies. Violent and nonvirgin, We’re not fazed by sex and danger, This is pure and this is holy, This self sacrafice to anger. I can see a thousand faces, Thousand scars of flesh and soul, We’ve all been discarded, And we’ve never felt so whole. As you come out to play, Sucking life and breeding our decay, This world has never been our place, But you cry, And heaven wants us. |

hey....I like this--even with the pain. Smile...this read like a "piercing"--and I mean that as a compliment....I wish you would have gone a bit further with it tho, I know you have no mention of critique, so forgive me for volunteering, but I felt like you stopped, write when you got to the core. Welcome--and I am anxious to see what you "unpeel" in the future. |
