I can hide my face, but I can never really change me. I stagger to hold a place in this world. I hesitate to be a simple face. I lack verve, almost identity, and my beauty suffers. (inside and out) I strive to be free from my on growing imaginary disease. You showed me who I, and all the stupid things I did to try to find it. All the things I've tried, all the times I've lied. (people see through) No other time can humans see through, unless they're working to defeat. I understand who I am. I realize I've been running from the race ... my race. I guess, I never wanted to remember I am mortal... |

Hi Sara, I like this. None of us want to admit we are mortal. But alas, we are. Great poem. In truth, what defines us is our poetry. |
