My journey…..thus far I am no ones’ role model My life has been a failure In every conventional sense Though I hungered for knowledge I refused to be taught I was blessed with a child And was afraid to raise him I actually found my “one true love” And did not recognize her I was clever enough To start new enterprises But not enough to sustain them Money, houses, wives and friends Have all come and gone I am left now, with myself And since I am no longer distracted By the things that society Feels I must have I try to acquaint myself With that, which remains ~wranx The shortest distance between two points... |

I must try to convey the most earnest of my thoughts here, wranx. I was gonna start highlighting, you know, cut and paste, lines that I loved when I realized I would have highlighted the whole thing. With the exception of the "blessed with a child" part, as I have in the last most recent years (lol) chosen a non-conventional approach to my heart string pluckings, every mental glimpse of a life's bibliography presented here was not only yours, but too familiarly my own as well. The first of your works (not to discredit the genius of the lot of em) that made me fight tears I refuse to acknowledge...oh, f'd that one, huh... Thanks, friend. A perfect write that I am happy to first response... (((and the Bukowski sig is awesome, and quite befitting of exactly what I said above about the unity of our yearbook writing days...))) Friend Purity, it is always a pleasure to see that you have commented on a scribble of mine. We share a parallel path, it would seem. But, where in hell is it going?? ~wranx The shortest distance between two points... |

I don't know wranx. you've blazed a trail that many more would follow would it not be for wearywise wisdomen such as yourself, and the ones before you. the world needs more of your kind as does PIP then again... there's somthing about you know, like, takin that other path thingie and, uh, like, bein happy about it er somthin. I don't know you wouldn't be wranx if it didn't rankle BS I never aimed at reality; I aimed at truth. --Orson Welles |

Not bad... I sense serious angst of somekind. You use a very simple approach to get to the point of the poem. I think that works for you in this instance. Very clear, clean sut piece. As far as my emotional response, I found it hard to relate to the protagonist. He was far removed from any emotionl tie to me. And for that reason, I think the end fell flat to me. Very nice work. Thanks for the read. Dragon |

Thanks Brian, Really. It's true that I've done things my own way. Seemingly to the detriment of normalacy. A grown man responding to a bunch of 1s & 0s, generated by a "virtual person" named brian sites ~ Normal? I guess? ~wranx The shortest distance between two points... |

To Brian...you should never not include yourself in such a response of praise. Your works are of the National Honor Society "Yea! I get to be a Marshal and wear a gold cord" calibre. You are the few of which you speak! Draggie, relativity is the answer, I agree, and your admission to being less than relative is a sometimes missed out on focal point of this forum. Your response was honest, yet still complimentary to the author that has been so spooky in his "can I share my deja vu with you" approach...read on, and you'll find it is, well, so relative...lol (cheap plug) and, a real time rally here ta boot!@! awesome [This message has been edited by Purity (08-03-2002 01:12 AM).] |

wranx....This is sad but beautiful work. Life experiences make us what we are…and you my friend are a writer! I read this when you first posted it and I felt the emotions of your heart... it left me speechless. Great work. Peace be with you touching the sadness and making it feather ghosts DeaDiAmore |

I was here where you describe for a long time (until quite recently)..I don't think words would be of muchcomfort, but rather a hug and a comment that you are not alone..i guess we have to work it out and get in touch with ourselves better. , Cher Poetry is: |

Awesome work, wranx. You have a beautiful mind (not John Nash's though, thankfully). Mikey Said if I only could ... |
