I once knew
The taste of silence
It’s smooth and succulent flavor
Its  tantalizing aroma-
Hints of lavender and vanilla…

This now a distant memory
As failures and regrets
Now haunt its hallowed halls
Burning and bitter as they go down
Leaving a smell of decay and death

Silence beckons to me
But the past will not let it in
Choosing instead to
Replay itself over and over again

I HATE when that happens. I once told myself to shut up--on a city bus--out LOUD. GROAN.

so...y'see...I understand this perfectly.

Enjoyed.
