I walk alone on path well worn by those who've gone before, with mountains flattened, rivers dry, no waves pound distant shore. In solitude, no tears befall upon my naked breast, as I traverse in silent mourn, my life by sins possessed. No star to guide, no luminaire, to lead where I might go, while I seek to purify; to purge my mortal soul. Within my brain lay silent tomes by gods as once were written, I strain to hear their final call; hear only words of sorrow bitten. Ensconced in chill, I walk alone as stillness never wanes, on path well worn by those before, as darkness ever reigns. [This message has been edited by Tim (06-08-2002 10:24 PM).] |

I think this poem demonstrates well what an atheist feels while walking through this thing we call Life. This might not have been your intention, but it hits my heart that way. I like your construction. It suits me well and I feel well knowing I am not the only lonely wanderer. |
