This is more of a narative, not really poetic, more like the story of my Thanksgiving break He missed her so much even though he had seen her not but two weeks ago He drove home late that night to see her sooner Walked outside in the cool winter night Looked up at the stars and wished she was gazing with him He called her on the phone, but a male answered and the line was cut dead Called her again with *67 to get her wondering who called her while blocked She told him she couldnt watch the stars with him that night He sat on the hood of his car late that night With knees tucked in arms at chest and head limply hanging He sat there looking at the cool night breeze through the silent trees He sat there looking up at the gentle stars Wishing that one day he could be as great as the stars Then maybe she could love him He sat there for hours in the night Till the full moon sank back down into the sky He sat there through the silent night Till the borrowed peace ran out He sat there still when skies turned bleak Till the rain became as tears, tears upon his cheek |
