In the world of misery and tears Creates a sadness within our peers Moving slowly with each new day Fighting for each breath as we pray Not wanting to open our eyes Looking down as other's cry Struggling for a sense of being Hitting rock bottom without even seeing Feeling no love within our souls Our hearts are black and small like coal Waiting for a start of a new day But when it comes, we look away Not knowing which way to turn But your heart is still to yearn For that never ending love Red roses and turtle doves Knowing that you are there Standing beside me cause you care Feeling the gentle kisses you give Ever happiness we shall live The caress of your hands on me Let's my emotions free to be Together we become one The fight of misery we have won So dry your glistening tears No more days shall you fear For I am here to protect your heart Never again shall we be apart A friend, like a candle, is most needed in the darkness. |

I started this reading fearful of your continual crying analogy as a rutt - or jewel in the rough - that you were so difficultly unable to overcome, and yet the ending so surprised me after reading and responding to your previous writings, that I had to commend you and say, "Well Done!". This was great, not only in its words, and poignancy, but also in an awesome transition within itself...Congrats! Excellent piece! Oh yeah, please get teary-eyed all you need... without fear of it being in vain, wasted, or demeaning...but, when a piece of your heart is conveyed as this poem does magnamiously, even amidst those tears "no one will ever see", SMILE!!!
