Your command is this Despite your choice to take or leave this quest, you'll make your way toward the darkened wood, you'll carry out the mission that others could, who died while running out of youth and zest, and you will die and take the place of those of whom I give account concerning death. You will join the ranks Despite your hate or love toward this war you'll give your name to dolls and tales of stone so kids can call you GI Joe and own a piece of guts and might, and join the corps so they can die and call on kids to buy the tale of boyish deeds and glori'us lies. You will write your tale Despite the truths or lies of war and hell the story you will write will sell and earn the ears of boys and girls so they will learn to be my faithful servants who smile and tell their government issue stories of techno-war and swift response to evil deeds abroad. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |
