Dear World What a woeful form You have become; Infested with humanity. We have overcome All you've done; You've lost to the vanity. The lives you've started Are now departed; Screaming their bloody cries. We've set out to kill, And will not be stilled; We will win you as our prize. The mountain falls, The sun stalls; Shadows fills the Earth. The sky cries, Saying, "Goodbye"; Mother nature will not give birth. The end will come, Earth will be done; The process will not stall. The sun will end, Gravity will bend; The Earth will someday fall. -Matt- Not sure what catagory it would fit in, so I posted it here. |

a friend of mine once said "the earth is... the vanishing race." well put, encarta, and since quite dark, well deserved in dark poetry. great job! |

I like this...it's sad, because unfortunately we do seem to hurt the world, however I don't think we're totally destructive. Humans do things to look after the planet too...it's not all so bleak..  K |

I know, I'm not saying that we're all bad, well I guess in a way I am. My english teacher just told us to write a letter to the world, and tell it what we think about it. We were reading poetry at the time, so I decided to write it in poem form. I just started writing down, and before I know it I was done. I do agree with all thats in it, but I also believe that we can, and perhaps will, make it better. |
