I was spared the fate of death in my early years I did not yeild to drowning or violence in foreign lands I seem to be fated to a long life filled with pain and cares I am dieing slowly.Like an oak tree as it stands I die from the tips of my limbs as they slowly rot and fall Till bare of leaves and hollow trunked I bravely hold my own I yet can feel the weather's breath and hear the bird's sweet call Death will come like a strong wind To lay me down flat prone Then I will lie on the soft breast of mother earth The seasons will have their way with this old broken tree My scattered corpse will blend with soil to start another tree's birth For then the spirit that was once called life will forever be set free [This message has been edited by paladin (01-15-2002 02:34 PM).] |

Paladin~You write ever so deep...but, even more thought provoking in the winter months. At some point, yes, all our spirits will be set free...but, alas not until it is time my friend. Good thought provoking write as usual. ~Hugs, Nancy~ ~Time has cast a spell on you, |

Interesting thoughts... We all will die sooner or later... All of us will die at least once... James |
