Strange, that I should be so torn, 'twixt happiness and hate. A life of joy, or one forlorn? Which should be my fate? I'd think the choice an easy one, and choose the life of ease. Yet once I ponder, and think on, it simply won't appease. Sorrow, strife, are what I need, To flourish, and to grow. A life of joy, I dare not heed, It is a life to slow. So I shall live as best I know, suff'ring through each day. And think no more of joy, but Woe, shall be my eternal way. For life is fated to be hard, At least, it is for me. And I shall be the Angry Bard, And sing on bended knee. |

i must say that this is very good john! i could feel the wrath of the angry bard even all the way down here in australia . theres a cold vehemence behind your words which i found to be very powerful in getting the emotions across. you did that well. i just hope youre feeling ok. sometimes wallowing in our own dispair helps us get through the toughest of times. i liked the format and ridgidity of this poem- i think its what gave to the force behind the poem...once again good job john, keep writing, poet... |

Thank you, Cherish, DP... I always keep a cold rigidity for my verse.... It helps convey my feelings. I believe that with the cold adherence to the verse's scheme, it conveys emotions crisper. Not that I have anything against free verse, it's just that My poetry comes across better in Rhyme. Thank you for the comments! Does the name pavlov ring a bell? |

AHHH, yet another wonderful read you have penned. Am glad to see that there is another that keeps to ridgidity{sp} and rhym...some times I feel like the only one...but how right you are that it conveys feelings so well!!
